Review
"This chapter [Chapter 9] was an excellent resource for my students and was the foundation of the final weeks of class. In particular, students were able to use elements of each of the sample plans to develop thier own individual units for presentation. "The entire class found it [Chapter 7] refreshing and apploaded the author for promoting her position in "Reflections about Reaching All Learners" that "the vast majority of students have the capacity to develop the learning skills necessary to succeed in school." Rick Gay, Davidson College "I can say her [Bennett's] approach to Multicultural/Diversity Education instruction is very informative and helpful for teachers of diverse students. The examples and cases are students' favorites. The quality of the information presented [in this text] is excellent." Henry M. Codjoe, Dalton State College "She [Bennett] starts out with a strong presentation of a theoretical framework. I find her case examples very compelling. I especially like the many examples of lesson plans found in Chapter 9. I like the emphasis placed on ethnic and national groups covered in Part II. Other texts don't cover this topic to the extent that this text does. I would be very inclined to try the Bennett text the next time I teach our multiculutral education class. I particularly like her treatment of immigration and how it has impacted our nation and our schools." Richard Orem, Northern Illinois University " I appreciated the depth of materials covered in this text, especially the argument for the need for multicultural education. More areas of diversity were covered than is found in most texts of this nature. Overall, the writing style is great. It is easy to read, has a narrative feel." Anita Jones Thomas, Loyola University - Chicago

Note-takers: PASS on the loose-leaf option
By Benja Ringler
I purchased the loose leaf option for a graduate school class and put it into a binder. I am "old-school," and I prefer having a paper textbook over the e-book so that I can actually write on the paper and make notes. The upside with looseleaf option is that I can take out the chapter I am currently reading and put it flat on the table (no fighting with the spine for note-taking). The downside of the looseleaf is that these pages are SO THIN, ink marks and highlighter go right through the paper and show on the other side. I was VERY disappointed with the paper quality. The whole point of a paper textbook was so that I could write in it. Unfortunately, the notes on one side of the page are very distracting on the opposite side of the paper. I wouldn't recommend this option for people who want to take notes.

A good book for college
By derrick belanger
College books are big, heavy, and expensive. A hard copy of this book would've been big, heavy, and expensive. A digital copy of this book is just expensive, though not as expensive. The content is good, and very insightful if your someone who is into Multicultural education, or education in general. I do recommend getting it digitally if your have the option, because otherwise... big, heavy, and (more) expensive.

There are a lot of amazing personal stories
By Aimous22
There are a lot of amazing personal stories, but the text itself is extremely biased and the data is not always credible or accurate.
