Great Reading!

The newly revised version of Gray Panthers Battle for Earth is an improvement across the board. Grammar and mechanics of the book definitely benefited from author having an editor. I bought the first edition and was distracted by the books need for editing, but still enjoyed it. The second edition was much more enjoyable to read without the distractions. After reading it, I had to go back and read the next book in the series again as the books are like potato chips, you can't have just one.

Disjointed

I finished it. Great idea, but the execution is all over the place. Huge gaps in the timeline. I actual thought I had skipped ahead a couple of times and realized, no, there are multi-year gaps that just happen. I did want to check out book 2, but the reviews sort of tracked along with what I felt. I know I am not author material, but there has to be some tools to fix this process. I will watch the author, but want more polish before I invest time in the next novel.

What sci-fi should be

This what military style, and space opera should look like. Even the Audible book of this is outstanding. A new take on who the heroes are just makes it more fun to read. Being a 20 year Navy Vet myself I totally buy into the whole idea that we still have lots to give. The writing is very good with good editing. Nothing worse than reading a book and all you're doing is finding the errors. Very good job Mr Guenther!
