The symbol of transmigration is used as a hermeneutic key which gives access to the 'family similarity' (in the sense of Wittgenstein) of Pythagoras' seemingly heterogeneous teaching on mathematics, music, cosmology, ethics, theology, and the soul. James Luchte is Lecturer of Philosophy and Programme Co-ordinator of the MA in European Philosophy at the University of Wales, Trinity St. David, in Wales. His other publications include The Peacock and the Buffalo: The Poetry of Nietzsche (translator), Pythagoras and the Doctrine of Transmigration, Heidegger's Early Philosophy: The Phenomenology of Ecstatic Temporality, 1Vietzsche's Thus Spoke Zarathustra: Before Sunrise (editor) and Kant's Critique of Pure Reason: Reader's guide (all Continuum). He has also published numerous articles on various topics in European Philosophy.

James Luchte's "Pythagoras the Doctrine of Transmigration," subtitled "Wandering Souls," is a carefully researched and deeply poetic archaeology of the soul as the Pythagoreans almost certainly experienced it. Luchte takes the reader directly to the central Pythagorean metaphor for gaining oneness with the All--the functionally termless wandering of "each" soul through innumerable physical configurations in a partially recollected, yet largely unconscious, quest over eons to eventually acquire the totality of the experiences of all manifested entities--and thereby recover the knowledge of the Divine, the absolute Memory of the primordial Whole. By transporting the reader inside the Pythagorean mind, Luchte's account neutralizes more superficial, and sterile, renderings of who Pythagoras was and what he taught. "Pythagoras" is a riveting and haunting exploration of the twilight nature of Nature, Itself, in Luchte's mirror, thoroughly and irremediably haunted.

Getting TRIM and HEALTHY with this amazing cookbook!

This is the most beautiful and useful cookbook I have ever owned (and I'm a bit of a collector). First of all, the recipes are SO delicious! I've made over a dozen of them now and none have disappointed. RUN to the kitchen and go make the Chicken Parmy like TONIGHT. It's unbelievable. Secondly, the recipes are SO healthy! I can't believe I can eat such wholesome foods and lose weight at the same time. I've been eating Trim Healthy Mama style (which means I'm eating goooood) for well over two years now, and I've improved my health, increased my energy... while *not* having to deny my sweet tooth or go hungry. No deprivation here - just scrumptious, FUN meals for me and my family!

I realize a lot of people don't like the unusual ingredients. But I wanted to share my take on it. I actually appreciate recipes that taste amazing that have incorporated healthy ingredients like cakes with Whole-Husk Psyllium flakes, sweets made with non GMO sugar alcohols and stevia, added non tasting whey for extra protein, collagen and Gelatin for incredible health benefits, sauces made with Glucomannan or "gluccie" for superb cholesterol levels and regularity, and so many more interesting nutritional ingredients. You are baking and cooking with supplements! You are feeding your family with the most amazing tasting food AND most amazing quality ingredients. I have never seen anything like it.
Some say, the sisters are just trying to sell more food products. Well good for them if they are. This is not a charity or not for profit organization. These families deserve the fruit of their labor. But I actually believe they desire to create the best possible products for both taste and health - not only for their own families, but for this new growing family of mamas. I believe they are genuine and sincere in their passion to see families change for the better. I do not believe they are driven by greed.
I am thrilled with this program and have lost 35 pounds on it. My husband and son love the food and none of us feel we are eating diet food, because well... We are not.
This is the best program I have ever been on and I would much rather see my money go to these precious families than to some random market.
Let's think outside the box. These ladies did and look what they have accomplished. Bravo.

Better tasting recipes & more professional looking but calls for lots of specialty items & calls whey protein dairy free

This is a lovely cookbook, I love the improvements on the recipes and the inclusion of recipes from bloggers and others who have adopted and made the plan even better than it was originally. However, there were a couple of things that are really frustrating. 1) Baking Blend (BB): I realize that the book contains a note in the beginning about BB and that they don't want to you have to buy their name brand products and you can make your own blend, but there are no directions or recipes for it. I know people will probably hate me for saying that, but it's a cookbook, for goodness sake. If you have a ton of recipes that call for special ingredients, maybe having a substitute recipe for that frequently used ingredient would be helpful. (Yes, I know there are recipes on Pinterest, etc., but what a hassle.) I kept seeing these beautiful pictures and thinking, wow, I'd love to try that! Only to find I had no collagen, no oat fiber, no agar, no baking blend, etc. It was incredibly frustrating. I'd already saved up and purchased special ingredients like (super) Sweet Blend, nutritional yeast, xylitol, raw apple cider vinegar and all that after reading the old book, now I have to stock up again on new special ingredients, especially since I need to do this dairy-free. Oh, and I found a canister of beef gelatin locally but it cost $25! This is not helping convince my husband that I can do this on the cheap.lol.

2) Dairy-free: I found something very strange in the cookbook- recipes that were labelled dairy-free, yet called for whey protein? Umm... whey protein is not dairy free. I thought maybe it was a typo for a second, but then found another recipe with the same problem.

Okay, now I have not had the book for long and have only made two recipes from it- the Cry No More Brownies and the Salted Caramel Gluccie Pudding. Yum!! The brownies were lovely and fudgy and I love the secret ingredient in them but they did take a while to make because it called for special ingredient sweeteners and I didn't have them so I had to track down a conversion chart and figure it out first. I do love the more professional look of the book and am very glad to see Serene and Pearl have become so popular. I have followed their mom's ministry for many years and it's so neat to see these ladies who come from a great family now in the spotlight. :)

I loved this book. Amy has been taken and sold into sex slavery. She feels like she’s just a plaything for men, wealthy sadistic men, but after she meets her new trainer, Robert, she starts to feel hope for the first time. He’s her only hope and she starts to want him. Left on a cliffhanger that makes you want more. What happens next!? Who's playing who? I can’t wait to find out. I recommend reading this book.

What can we say…..We absolutely loved it. A quick novel only read within a few hours, we were captivated from beginning to end. It’s dark, raw, edgy, gritty and at times quite confronting, and we enjoyed every single minute of it.
We loved the depth and detail of the novel, often finding ourselves completely drawn to both Amy and Robert and their struggles, their heartbreak, their strength and their hope. Such an emotional roller-coaster, you can’t help but be drawn to every word and every page read.
Simply put…..A brilliant read that shouldn't be missed.

To both Jade West and Jason Luke we say thank you for joining forces and giving us an absolute brilliant read. We loved, loved, loved it.

It forces you to think

Here's what happened when I picked up this book to read: I read the prologue, then went back to read the blurb, and then was prepared to not go any further. I couldn't picture how it could get better. But...as a fan of Jade West and my belief in giving (most) books a fair chance, I continued, and would have kicked myself had I not continued.

If you've read the blurb, you know that this is just the first in a serial of three (3) books and so, most definitely, it's going to get worse before it gets better. Just thought I’d throw that out there.

In this first installment, we get to see the dark sheep of the family and I was so ready to jump down his throat. I mean, I completely judged him before knowing about him. Which is bad - and so often what we tend to do in real life. We get a few generic information about someone and use to create our own version of their reality and judge them based on that. Which, when you really think about it, is very foolish.

That's the great thing about books, the good ones, that is. They reach deep inside you and make you search yourself to see whether you're really capable of what you say you are or whether you truly believe what you say you believe. So...good job guys on that front.

As for Amy, her plight and circumstance, are not something I would wish on anyone. It's a truly f*$ked up life, and one that so many of us could easily slip into - if not for the grace of God. I will say, though, that she has a remarkably strong spirit and I am very very surprised that it hasn't been broken yet - what with the cruelty she's been dealt with since that that fateful day. Sadly though, her circumstance is a reality of many boys and girls (yes...this is not just a girl/female issue. Boys/men encounter this as well) and I'm glad that said issue is getting some attention in this book.

Since we’re talking about this, it goes without saying that when it comes to human trafficking, you're going to encounter some of the worst of humanity and that's what you have in this book. It is not sugarcoated and, for that, I am grateful. You definitely don’t want to know the violent thoughts running throughout my head at this point.

Anyways, I know I'm being terribly vague, but this is the kind of book you want to go in blind so you can form your own opinions and discover more about yourself.

I will say this though, One thing, that did strike me as odd was Amy's seemingly easy capitulation during her training. I'm still on the fence as to what’s really going on in her head, but I’m very much looking forward to finding out more. Even with this said, there's still so much more going on than what's you're reading in this review, that I'm just going to shut up and tell you to read it...then we can talk '

This, right alongside The Lost by Cole McCade and Dirty Bad Savage by Jade West, is one of the books I'm grateful to have read this year as they force me out of my protective bubble to realize that there's a lost, broken, and hurting world out there and that I can make a positive difference - if I choose to.

Explore the world of option trading

I learned a lot from this book. I have been trading stocks since I was in college –at least a decade or so. One of the things that you often hear about investing is to only invest in what you know. Well, for all this time, I have never traded in options because I have never been able to get my head around them. Now that I have read this book, options trading finally clicked with me. Not only do I know get the power and opportunities that options trading provides, but I also now understand. This book is a great guide and I recommend it for those looking to explore the world of option trading.

I haven't traded options in over 20 years, but this book got me excited, again. Twenty years ago, you had none of the technology we have today. At that time, trading options was hit or miss proposition. Now, easy access to information can improve your odds of having a winning trade.

This book not only shows you popular, profitable option strategies, but also what could go wrong, if the underlying stock price moves away from you. Being a conservative investor, I'm always interested in strategies which can reduce my risk, while bumping-up my returns and options can help reduce risk, if properly positioned. This book is a good resource for anyone looking for an additional way to reduce their risk of stock holdings and/or increase overall returns.

Intriguing World War II Stories!

Jeremy Harwood's UNEXPLAINED MYSTERIES OF WORLD WAR II details two dozen stories that make up the historic canvas of the Second World War. While there have been other books on the subject, Harwood's book, a 2014 Firefly Books release, benefits from its newness, offering updated information on the CONSPIRACIES, COVER-UPS AND COINCIDENCES THAT WON AND LOST THE WAR.

Harwood's book covers many of the 'usual suspects' such as Glenn Miller's disappearance, the last cruise of the USS Tang, Rudolf Hess' flight to England, Japanese attacks on America's west coast, the Nazis looting of European art treasures, the fate of the 'Lady Be Good' B-24, the sinking of the liner Normandie, Germany's A-bomb program, the 'Double Cross' D-Day story, the kidnapping plot against the Duke of Windsor, the Dunkirk evacuation, the "Man Who Never Was' story, etc.

A fresh retelling of some intriguing stories, the book is illustrated with vintage b&w and color photographs, illustrations and posters. Personally I dislike the overuse of the paperclips/pieces of tape gimmick that adorn many of the pix but that's just me.

In short, UNEXPLAINED MYSTERIES OF WORLD WAR II is an informative and entertaining collection of Second World War history. Recommended.

Should be more concise as an introductory look into a CQC shooting system

This book was ok. It does not give many specifics regarding grip positioning, sight alignment or sight acquisition. The pictures give you some idea of the body positioning and grip alignment on the weapon but without written backing your assessments well have to do. The book does give some scenario advice regarding color coding danger areas but I'd rather have had greater details regarding grip, sight alignment, sight picture acquisition, foot mover etc.

I like the overall idea of this CQC system but this book misses in some fundamental ways.

A little short however, if one can think out side the box and realize that this method could be used in certain scenarios with better results than the traditional "ways" then purchase. If you are a ninja then you probably do not even need handgun training much less to learn anything new.
